A Layer Cake is a total of 42 fabric squares. Each square is 10 inch by 10 inch. If there are 42 fabrics in the fabric collection, you get one square of each fabric. If the designer doesn't have 40 different fabrics, some will be repeated to have a total of 42 squares.
